Aman Maldives - Island Creation Works at Fotheyo Bodufushi and Fotheyo Lagoon, Vaavu Atoll The proposed project involves the land reclamation, shore protection for infrastructure development and operation of a resort at Fotheyo Island and its immediate lagoon in Vaavu Atoll. It consists a total reclamation of 55.7 Ha (557,000 sq m at beach toe) by dredging sand from within the atoll lagoon using a Trailing Suction Hopper Dredger. Beach materials are sourced from dredging within the lagoon using a cutter section dredger. The main scope of the works include: The activities involved in the are as follows:

Dredging 11 access channels to islands Dredging harbor basins and constructing harbors on two islands
Reclaiming land across 25 islands approximately 1200000 cbm
Beach replenishment on the main island
Beach formation in reclaimed islands
Shore protection works in 27 islands created totaling to approximately 17500 tons of rock boulder
Spun piling for hotel pavilions (approximately 1100 piles) Project Commenced on May 2024 and expected to complete in December 2025. Project Value is approximately USD 55 Million.
